Cyprus it is a tourist country and the offer of accommodation proves it: there are more than 500 Hotels and aparthotels. The tourist vocation of the island is also manifested in the variety of stay options:
Hotels: In Cyprus you can find the chains of Hotels most luxurious in the world: Hilton, Four Seasons, Le Meridien, among others. However, you can expect excellent quality of service in most hotels in the country. The high season on the coast it goes from June to August; and in the case of mountain hotels, between December and March. 15% VAT is added to the invoice and room service is usually included.
Pensions: Generally they are businesses run by families. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the famous hospitality and Cypriot cuisine. The majority is in Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos and Larnaca.
Campings / Caravans: In Cyprus there are seven campsites. In them there are separate spaces for tents and caravans. Most have bathrooms, laundry, mini-supermarkets and a restaurant or bar. One night costs between 1 or 2 euros per person, plus additional expenses for the stay (food or services). Only two sites are open all year: Kalymnos (Limassol) and Feggari (Paphos). The rest closes in winters.
Apartments and holiday homes: If you are staying for a long time, the best option is to rent an apartment or house. The offer is varied and you can find spaces both on the beach and in the countryside. It's all about finding the one that best suits your taste and budget. Many times this option is more luxurious and cheaper than staying in a hotel.
Youth hostels: Cyprus has agreements with the Hostelling International non-profit association that provides special accommodation for young people. There are three locations on the island, in Farmagusta (East), Larnaca (southeast),Paphos (West). All have recreational spaces, restaurants, shops and bars. They are a good option if you do not have a lot of budget.
