Bus – San Sebastián

The buses from Saint Sebastian they are the only way to public transport totally urban of the city. In 2009 the service was used by more than 28 million users, which puts San Sebastián at the forefront in Spain in the use of buses urban, since it has the best ratio of travelers per inhabitant. They are administered by the San Sebastian Tram Company (CTSS). Since 1968 all trams and trolleybuses have been replaced by buses.

The fleet is made up of 121 buses: 84 of them are 12 meters, 3 of them 9 meters, 26 articulated 18 meters and 8 are minibuses for the upper areas of the city. There are currently 27 lines that serves the CTSS and that communicate daily the different neighborhoods of Saint Sebastian. This service is complemented by 9 lines “Owl” or nocturnal. All these have the prefix “B”.

The Schedule vary between each line, but these work on weekdays from around 07:30 until 22:00 to 23:00. On Saturdays and holidays the service starts between 08:30 and 10:30, culminating normally at 22:00. The night lines They work Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of holidays from 00:00 or 01:00 until 3:30 or 4:40, with intervals of 30 minutes to 1 hour. The price of the banknotes singles is 1.35 euros; for night services, 1.85 euros. You can also buy the DBUS card, with which the prices of a trip are reduced to 0.64 euros. A card 50 trips cost 31.30 euros and unlimited monthly 36.30 euros. You can get one Tourist CardSan Sebastian Card”For 13 euros (1 euro in bond to return the card). You can make 12 trips in 5 days and get benefits such as discounts and guided tours. It can be bought all year round at Alameda del Boulevard, # 8.

The entire fleet has special equipment that allows to know the position of each bus and the time left before they reach each of the 82 stops that have information panels installed.
