The Colon Theater of A Coruña is in the animated Marina Avenue from the city. This theater opened in 1948, with a concert by the Municipal Symphony Orchestra, on the initiative of the show businessman Emilio Rey Romero.
The architect Jacobo Rodríguez-Losada Trulock had the Italian-style theater design in his hands. Since its opening, shows as different as rock concerts to classical plays have passed through its stage and it has specialized in great Holliwoodian premieres such as “What the wind took”. All shows of a very high level.
In 2006 it was reopened after 4 years closed for a remodeling that adapted it to the technical needs of the functions of the 21st century. The current capacity is 847 seats and the rational use of space was achieved without depriving it of the style that always characterized it.
