The Museum of Contemporary Art It is in the majestic Barracks of Count Duke. Like other contemporary art museums, it uses a historic building to display its collections. It is also known as the Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art of MadridIt opened in 2001.
Here you will find the works that the city council of Madrid has acquired since 1980. There are almost 200 works that correspond to more than 170 artists of different styles and different periods. It occupies two floors of approximately 2,000 square meters.
The museum has beautiful paintings, graphic works, sculpture, photography and drawing. And collections such as: New creators, Realisms, The School of Madrid, Historical Vanguards, Caneja Legacy, Masters of abstraction, among other collections.
The opening hours are from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., then open its doors from 5 and 30pm until 9 pm. On Mondays there is no attention. Admission to the museum is free.
