Currency – France

Since the first of January 2002 the euro has become the official currency of the EU. That is why in Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Greece, Ireland, Finland, the Netherlands, France this currency circulates. The same does not happen with England, Sweden and Denmark.

Euro coins France

The denominations of bills that exist are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500, while there are eight coins, we can find them of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cents and 1 and 2 euros. If you are traveling to France we recommend traveling directly with euros and if this is not possible the second best option is to travel with US dollars. You can change them at any bank, customer service hours are from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Friday.

It is important to know that the most used credit cards in France are MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club and Visa, but it is good that you first find out if you can use them abroad and in any type of commerce.
