Dunes of Corralejo – Fuerteventura

The Natural Park of the Dunes of Corralejo It is located in the northern part of the island of Fuerteventura, in the Municipality of La Oliva. 5 kilometers from Corralejo and 38 from Puerto del Rosario, on the FV-1 road. They are 2,668 hectares protected by their unique formation and adapted fauna and flora.

It is situated parallel to a strip of beach of 8 kilometers that enters about 3,000 meters on the island, forming a succession of beaches and rocks with dunes of great beauty and presence of isolated volcanic cones, such as the Red Mountain, so called by the color of the lava that formed it.

Exists One Way that crosses the entire dune enclave through the Aunt Seca’s Malpais, as far as the Red Mountain.

The extensive Beach, of very fine white sands and blue waters, invite scuba diving. Its drawback is the excessive wind, to solve it circular walls are made with rocks to protect bathers. This strong wind is much appreciated by fans of sports such as kitesurfing, surfing, windsurfing and all related to wind and waves.

If you visit the Dunes Park, be careful not to enter the dunes between the months of January to May, the birds are nesting and it is advisable not to disturb them.
