The Anthem National is one of the National symbols of Costa Rica along with the flag, the Shield, the Purple Guayra as the National Flower, the tree of Guanacaste as a National Tree and the cart as a National Symbol of Labor.
National Symbol of Labor in Costa Rica

“Noble country, your beautiful flag” is the National Anthem since, in 1952 Manuel María Gutiérrez Flores composed the music.
Regarding the lyrics, it cannot be said that it was as stable as music and, throughout history, it underwent several modifications.
The final letter is the result of a contest that was held in 1903, and was won by José María Zeledón Brenes, to replace the previous one by the Spaniard Juan Fernández Ferraz and was never made official.
With small changes, the following is the official letter in June 1949:
Noble motherland your beautiful flag
Expression of your life gives us:
Under the clear blue of your sky
White and pure peace rests.
In the tenacious struggle of fruitful labor
That man reddens the face,
They conquered your children, simple laborers,
eternal prestige, esteem and honor,
eternal prestige, esteem and honor.

Hail oh gentle land!
Hail oh mother of love!
When someone pretends your glory to stain,
You will see your people, brave and virile
The rough tool in trocar weapon.

Hail homeland! your prodigal ground
Sweet coat and sustenance gives us;
Under the clear blue of your sky
Always live work and peace!
In Zeledón’s original writing, the first stanza read:
Costa Rica your beautiful flag
Expression of your life gives us:
Under the blue mantle of your sky
White and pure peace rests.
