The National Anthem of South Africa It was created in 1994 during the Nelson Mandela government,
His lyrics evoke a desire for freedom and faith, ask God for no conflict and keep the nation together.
The current anthem is a product of the fusion of the old national anthem “Die Stem” and the Bantu song “Nkosi Sikeleli Afrika” created by Enoch Mankanyi Nsotonga in the 19th century.
Its lyrics use words from the most spoken languages โโof the country such as Xhosa, Zulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans and English.
Here the translation of the South African anthem in Spanish:
God bless Africa
May your glory rise
listen to us Lord
bless us, Lord to us, your children
Lord, we beg you to protect our nation,
Intervene and cease all conflicts
Protect us, Protect our nation, protect
South Africa, South Africa!
From our blue skies,
From the deepest of our seas,
On our eternal mountains,
where echoes echo through the rocks
Sounds the call to come together,
and united we will remain standing,
Let’s live and fight for freedom
in South Africa, our land
