Maspalomas, in the south of Gran Canaria, is one of the most visited beach areas in Europe. Surrounded by a dune field, with a climate of privilege and the old lighthouse as a witness since 1890, it is considered the best beach on the island.
From the lighthouse we can start a pleasant walk, through the area we can make purchases, or have a drink in one of the beachfront beach bars. The meeting place for surfers is the curve that connects Maspalomas with Playa del Inglés.
Maspalomas beach has the distinction of Blue flag for the quality of its sands, waters and environmentally friendly services.
In this large stretch of fine white sands there are four distinct areas: the first for the enjoyment of families, the second and the fourth for nudists and the third is preferred by the homosexual community.
Maspalomas beach has all the services to make the stay at the beach very pleasant. But if we get tired of the sun and the sea, the restaurants are waiting for us to cool off and taste the island’s food, or go shopping. And if we prefer sports leisure, practicing water sports is very simple because all the infrastructures are available. Of course there are those who prefer to go to the theme parks: Aquasur, Sioux City, Palmitos Park, Holiday World and Mundo Aborigen. There is something for everyone.
