One of the tastings we can do in Madrid is the olive oil tasting. This oil has many variants and is one of the main ingredients of Spanish gastronomy, so it is ideal to learn to analyze it and learn more about its history, manufacture, varieties and uses.
Being part of an olive oil tasting we will notice how we discover a series of sensations of aromas and flavors. Most sessions will alternate the practical exercises with the explanation of theoretical concepts.
One of the recommended olive oil tastings is the one offered by Aceitalia experts. In this activity we will carry out a series of olfactory analysis of refined oils, extra virgin and monovarietal olive oils (where we find, for example, those of arbequina, chamomile and hojiblanca).
We will also learn to differentiate the negative and positive points of olive oil, the associations with aromas of fruits / flowers / spices, we will receive some culinary recommendations as well as the conservation process and learn from concepts and terminology.
This tasting takes place (prior reservation) at the Casa Maravillas Restaurant Bar on Fridays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The price ranges from 22 euros per person for a two-hour tasting.
