Place du Grand Sablon is a beautiful, very elegant and quiet square, located in Grote Zavel, In Brussels, around you can enjoy architectural constructions dating from the 16th to the 19th century. It is a place very visited by tourists in search of high class antique stores, you can also find typical food restaurants and chocolate shops.
For example, if you want to eat some delicious chocolates you can go to Pierre Marcolini, Wittamer, Biscuiterie Dandoy or Neuhaus. If you want to buy antiques, there are specialized stores, their prices are similar to any European city. There is a small flea market, although they only sell old objects.

In the square there is also the church of Notre- Dame du Sablon. Inside is a statue of the Virgin Mary, brought in 1348 from Antwerp. Very famous as they say it has the ability to cure diseases. If you want to visit the church, it opens its doors for tourists and the general public from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00, Saturdays from 09:30 to 17:00 and Sundays from 13:00 to 17:00. The Sablon Antiques Market It will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 to 18:00 and 09:00 to 14:00 respectively. In this antique fair it has been taking place in this Plaza for more than 20 years. You will find exhibitors of the most varied, with jewelry, furniture and curiosities that make it interesting.
