The Tenerife Auditorium is a work of the well-known architect Santiago Calatrava. It is located on Avenida de la Constitución, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The unique late-modern architecture building of the late twentieth century has 6,471 square meters spread over two rooms. It consists of successive platforms, with a large dust jacket suspended about 50 meters high, above the curve of the ceilings of the main hall.
The Symphony Hall is the main one. With an armchair of 1,616 seats arranged in an amphitheater and covered by a dome. On the sides of the seats arise the organ pipes.
The organ deserves special mention. It was designed by the master Albert Blancafort, with an untraditional concept. It has 3,835 tubes that, by their arrangement, provide a surround 3D sound. It has the peculiarity of having 10 keyboards that can be played by as many organists.
The Chamber Room is similar to the main room, but with 422 seats. You can buy souvenirs in the auditorium store or have a drink in the cafeteria. The two terraces that offer a beautiful view of the sea stand out.
Can be done visits in organized groups. To reserve and inform you of the rates you must call 922 568 625. The hours of the visits are from Monday to Saturday at 12:30. From July to September, there is also a visit at 5:30 p.m.
