Getting to know Egypt is a unique experience. The visitor will be amazed to see the legacy left to humanity by one of the most important countries in Universal History. One of these places is the Egyptian museum which is located in the center of the city of Cairo, in front of Tahrir Square.
The Museum It opened in 1902 and was designed in the neoclassical style by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon. The building has two floors where you can see beautiful collections of ancient Egypt.
The statues of Queen Tie and that of Amenhotep III stand out on the ground floor. And on the second floor is the Tutankhamen room, which contains beautiful treasures. The tomb of Tutankhamen was discovered intact by the English Carnarvon and Carter.
It is impossible to fully know the Museum in a day for its size and for the more than 1200 pieces that are exhibited in it. It opens its doors from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Fridays it closes at 2 pm and in the month of El Ramadan it closes at 3 pm. The Museum receives 165 thousand annual visits annually.
