For many, when Tenerife is mentioned, they immediately think of this destination as an ideal place to enjoy the beach and the sun, however, every day there are more travelers who also stop to see Tenerife as an ideal destination for hiking.
Most of the island of Tenerife is covered forests, mountains and national parks that decorate the villages of this destination. If we are hikers or looking to start this outdoor activity, in Tenerife we find forests, valleys, meadows and volcanic landscapes that are not waiting to be explored by us.
One of the places in Tenerife ideal for hiking are the Anaga Mountains. These are located in the north-east of Tenerife and has ravines that we can explore when exploring its meadows. Its slopes are steep but it is worth the walk on them, being an ideal destination to be visited throughout the year.
Another space that has become a magnet for walkers and athletes is the Orotava Valley. Here we will find a hypnotizing landscape, however, we must visit it with a good guide, compass or, if we are more modern, a GPS, because its pine trees are easy to not locate well.
In Tenerife we will also find other ideal destinations for hiking, one of the most prominent being the Teide National Park, where we will find the canyons and the crater of the same name.
